The Odessa Police Department took a report on October 23, 2017, from a citizen that alleged that a suspect assaulted her 3-year-old child at a local daycare.
On the same date, Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified as required by law and the OPD Crime Scene Unit photographed the child’s injuries.
The Criminal Investigation Division secured a search warrant for the local daycare. Investigators served the search warrant and seized video footage that matched the time frame of the alleged assault. The video surveillance system was extensive and covered the interior of the daycare.
Investigators meticulously reviewed approximately 12 hours of video footage and interviewed daycare workers and family.
