Man Arrested 3rd Time for DWI after Crashing into Home & Attempting to Run Over Homeowner
Odessa Police arrested Michael Anthony Flores, date of birth 04/15/1961, on 6-10-18 at approximately 0015 hours for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony”, Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More “3rd Degree Felony”, Possession of a Dangerous Drug “Class A Misdemeanor”, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident “Class B Misdemeanor”.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Purdue in reference to a hit and run. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant, who advised that a red 90’s model Chevrolet pickup crashed into the front of her residence before striking a parked white 2012 Dodge Durango. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, later identified as Flores, then began to drive away from the scene.
When the complainant confronted Flores about the crash, he drove away at a high rate of speed and attempted to run her over. An independent witness reported that they also observed Flores drive toward the complainant in an attempt to strike her. Officers searched the area and located a red 1996 Chevrolet Silverado, matching the suspect vehicle description.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, identified as Flores, was found to be intoxicated. A show-up was conducted and the complainant positively identified Flores as the same person who struck the front of her residence. Officers observed pieces of drywall and window glass shards on the front hood of his truck.
Flores was found to be in possession of several Tramadol Hydrochloride pills and was unable to provide a prescription. Further investigation revealed that Flores had two prior DWI convictions. Flores was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC. There were no reports of any injuries.
