Odessa Man Arrested in Connection with 7-11 Robbery

DATE/TIME OCCURRED: January 28, 2012, 1800 hours

LOCATION: 7-11 Convenience Store, University and Grandview



An Odessa man has been arrested in connection with the robbery that was reported on January 28, 2012 at the 7-11 located at 2700 North Grandview.


On that date officers responded to a call of a robbery that just occurred. A white male described as wearing a black shirt, black jeans and white shoes with a shaved head entered the business and demanded money from the register. The suspect threatened to shoot the clerk if he did not comply but no weapon was ever displayed. The clerk handed the suspect an undetermined amount of currency.


A witness saw the suspect leaving the store and chased him. The suspect threatened to shoot the witness but no gun was ever displayed and the witness backed off.  A follow up investigation by investigators with the Community Response Unit, led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Richard Don Schorovsky, DOB, 05-11-1989, for the offense of robbery, felony 2nd degree. Odessa Police officers located and arrested Schorovsky in the 11100 block of West 16th at approximately 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012. He was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
