  1. How do I search for data?

When you are on the page that you would like to search for arrests, burglaries, or something else you should see two calendars, a start date and an end date. These calendars should automatically be set up with the default dates of yesterdays date for the start date, and today’s date for the end date calendar.

To change the dates just click on the calendar for the dates you would like to search. (I.E. if you would like to search from November 5, 2003 to November 22, 2003 you would click November 5, 2003 on the start calendar and click November 22, 2003 on the end calendar)

After you have chosen the dates you would like to search for, you would then click on the button to the right of the calendars. (In this example you would click on Get Burglary Activity)

If there is currently data within that time period it will be displayed on screen below the calendars.

  1. How come I do not get information for the days that I selected?

In some cases you will get the following message:
There is currently no data available for the time periods you specified.

This will happen based on two reasons:

  1. There is actually no data available for the time period you specified. (This is the more common reason for receiving this message).

The reason there is not data available for you to view during the time periods you specified is that it currently has not been entered. At this time we only enter data from Monday until Friday. It is also possible for it to take up to a week for the entries to be available online.

  1. The start date comes after the end date. (i.e. start date is 12/05/2003, and the end date is 11/25/03)

To solve this problem reset the start date to come before the end date and, if available, data will be displayed.
