The Internal Affairs Division includes Lieutenant David Tavarez, Sergeant Rick Henegar and Sergeant Randy Eggleston.  This unit provides protection to the public with regard to improper police actions, and protection to the police department and its employees against unwarranted accusations of misconduct.  Its internal affairs role is the Department’s main effort to safeguard the high degree of integrity required to provide quality police services to the community and to maintain public trust.

Internal Affairs also performs other duties for the Chief of Police, such as assembling the Department’s annual report, coordinating the yearly budget process, overseeing promotional testing and is also responsible for the duties of the Fiscal Affairs of the Department.

It also conducts the employee application process for the Department.  All potential employees are thoroughly investigated with regard to their qualifications and past related conduct before being hired by the Department.
