Floyd Gwin Park Renovation

Floyd Gwin Park is undergoing a major renovation that will add several features and amenities that that the citizens of Odessa will enjoy for years to come! Floyd Gwin Park is a 45+ acre park that serves a large portion of the west-side of Odessa and West Odessa. A new baseball complex with 3 little league baseball fields will be built with concession stands. There will be a lighted walking trail added that comes to about 1 mile around. It will be fully lighted for safety and is also about 8 feet wide to accommodate people walking both directions. Once the renovations are completed, Odessans will have a modern, state of the art facility, to bring their friends and families to. Below are the amenities that are planned.


Planned Park Amenities

  • Parking: 442 lighted  new parking spaces, old number was approximately 250
  • Walking trail: lighted 1 mile walking trail (most is 8’ wide)
  • Playground: 60% expansion of playground area with additional equipment
  • 3 new lighted basketball courts (Construction is nearing completion)
  • 2 new lighted tennis courts w/ striping for 4 pickleball courts (Construction is about 90% completed)
  • 3 new lighted volleyball courts
  • 6 small picnic pavilions (3 ADA accessible)
  • 2 large picnic pavilions
  • 3 new lighted little league baseball fields
  • New concession bldg. w/ restrooms
  • Expanded pool area
  • All new irrigation
  • All utilities underground
