Theft Call Leads to Arrest of Wanted Fugitive with Stolen Gun
Odessa Police arrested Jordan Edwards, date of birth 10/05/1978, on 2-3-20 at approximately 1650 hours for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon “3rd Degree Felony”, Theft of a Firearm “State Jail Felony”, Fraudulent Destruction, Removal or Concealment of Writing “Class A Misdemeanor”, and for a theft warrant.
Officers responded to 4210 North JBS Parkway (Walmart East) in reference to a male subject concealing merchandise inside of his jacket. Upon arrival, when officers made contact with the subject, identified as Edwards, he began reaching for his left pocket and a handgun dropped onto the ground.
Investigation revealed that the gun had previously been reported stolen from Howard County and that Edwards was a convicted felon and wanted fugitive. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Edwards was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
