Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Texas Workforce Commission Burglary
Odessa Police arrested Xavieus JaRon Sledge, date of birth 01/30/1984, on 11-5-18 at approximately 1730 hours for Burglary of a Building “State Jail Felony”. Officers responded to 2626 North JBS Parkway (Texas Workforce Commission) in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the complainant, who advised that the glass door was shattered and that the building had been burglarized.
Surveillance footage showed that a U-Haul truck arrived on the property during the nighttime hours. Two male subjects exited the U-Haul truck and made forced entry into the building before stealing several miscellaneous items, which included a Dell computer, a Zenith projector and a 40-inch RCA flat screen television. Later in the day at approximately 1330 hours, officers located one of the suspects, identified as Sledge.
Surveillance footage positively identified Sledge as one of the same suspects who had previously burglarized the building. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained a warrant for Sledge, who was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. The investigation continues.
