Suspicious Person Call Leads to Arrest of Felon with Meth, Gun & Drug Paraphernalia

Odessa Police arrested Rudy Martinez Jr., date of birth 08/21/1989, on 1-6-19 at approximately 0311 hours for Manufacture or Delivery of Methamphetamine “1st Degree Felony” and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon “3rd Degree Felony”. Officers responded to the 4500 block of East University in reference to a suspicious person. Dispatch advised that a male subject was attempting to open doors in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject matching the suspect’s description, in front of Edible Arrangements. Officers made contact with the subject, identified as Martinez. Officers found Martinez to be in possession of approximately 8.1 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, a scale, two pipes and several empty baggies. Investigation revealed that Martinez was a convicted felon. Martinez was charged accordingly.
