Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Cash America Pawn Robbery

LOCATION: 1012 North Grant (Cash America Pawn)
Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to an aggravated robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon in Central Odessa. Christopher Mojica, date of birth 01/13/1991, has been charged with four counts of Aggravated Robbery “1st Degree Felony” and Possession of a Dangerous Drug “Class A Misdemeanor”.
On April 29, 2019 at approximately 1617 hours, Odessa Police responded to 1012 North Grant in reference to an aggravated robbery. Investigation revealed that an unknown male subject entered the business and fired a flare gun at four subjects, causing them to be in fear for their life. The suspect then broke the glass case and took several firearms before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
Officers later located a male subject matching the suspect’s description, in the 1300 block of South Sam Houston. The suspect, identified as Mojica, was transported to the Odessa Police Department and interviewed by detectives. Mojica admitted to using the flare gun to take firearms from Cash America Pawn.
Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Mojica was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. More charges are anticipated and the investigation continues. Please note that photo below was taken in 2017.
