Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Shooting in North Odessa

LOCATION: 3600 Block of Eisenhower
Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred yesterday in North Odessa. Eric Llanez Rodriguez, date of birth 05/02/1995, has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony”, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon “3rd Degree Felony”, Deadly Conduct - Discharge Firearm “3rd Degree Felony”, and Forgery (Warrant) “State Jail Felony”.
On May 9, 2019 at approximately 1406 hours, Odessa Police responded to the area of 35th and Muskingum in reference to shots being fired. Investigation revealed that after a disturbance occurred between Rodriguez and his 19-year-old girlfriend in the 3600 block of Eisenhower, Rodriguez chased his girlfriend and fired multiple rounds at her while she was leaving in her vehicle. There were no reports of any injuries.
Officers observed bullet holes in the vehicle and recovered shell casings on East 35th Street. Officers later located Rodriguez at approximately 2100 hours in the 3200 block of Chestnut. Investigation revealed that Rodriguez had a forgery warrant and several felony convictions. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Rodriguez was charged and arrested accordingly.
