Odessa Police Make 4 Arrests in Connection to 2 Drive-By Shootings
Odessa Police have charged four males in connection to two drive-by shooting that occurred earlier today. Two 16-year-old males and two 15-year-old males have been charged with Deadly Conduct “3rd Degree Felony” and Evading “Class A Misdemeanor”. One of the 16-year-old males was additionally charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence “3rd Degree Felony” and Theft of a Firearm “State Jail Felony”.
On December 5, 2019 at approximately 0900 hours, Odessa Police responded to the 800 block of East 15th Street in reference to a drive-by shooting. At approximately 1054 hours, Odessa Police responded to the 1600 block of Santa Monica in reference to a second drive-by shooting. There were no reports of any injuries from either shooting.
An attempt to locate the suspect’s vehicle was placed through Dispatch and an Ector County Sheriff’s deputy later located the suspect’s vehicle in the area of 31st and Golder. The deputy conducted a traffic stop but the vehicle evaded for a short time before the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot in the area of 33rd St and Noble.
A perimeter was set up by OPD, ECSO & DPS, and four suspects were eventually located and charged accordingly. The investigation continues.
