  • How Can I Get a Copy of a Police Report?

    You may purchase Accidents Reports online for $6.00, available 24 hours a day or in person, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST (excluding holidays) for a fee of $4.00.

    We cannot accept mail request for accident reports.

    Offense/Incidents Reports:

    Offense/Incidents reports can be obtained in person from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.  Cash or money order only. Personal checks are not accepted.

  • How can I check if someone is in jail and how do I get them out?

    You may access the Ector County Law Enforcement Center website to view inmates in jail and recent arrests. 

    The method for getting a person released from jail varies depending on the offense(s) charged against the arrested person.  You may contact the Ector County Sheriff's Office at (432) 335-3060 to obtain more information on release methods.

  • How do I get my impounded vehicle released?

    You may access the Ector County Law Enforcement Center website to view inmates in jail and recent arrests.

  • How can I register my residential or business alarm?

  • How Do I Get Fingerprinted?

    Fingerprints are available Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Odessa Police Department. No appointment necessary. 

    Fee(s): 

    • $10.00: up to two (2) cards
    • $5.00: each additional card 

    You must present valid identification with photograph.

    Accceptable Identification:

    • Driver's License/Identifiation Card
    • Immigration Card
    • Military Identification
    • Passport   
  • How can I commend an officer?

    As servants to the public we strive to provide our citizens with outstanding services.  Please feel free to let us know how well our employees are providing you with outstanding service.  You may complete this form to let us know how well an officer or employee is doing.
  • How can I file a complaint against an officer?

    Complaints may be filed by contacting the Odessa Police Department Professional Standards Unit, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in person at: 205 N. Grant Ave. Odessa, TX 79761 or by phone at (432) 335-5775. Outside of the hours listed above, you may contact the on-duty Watch Commander by phone at (432) 333-3641.

  • How can I request an off-duty officer?

    Upon request, an officer(s) may be available to work off-duty employment.  To request an off-duty officer you must contact the Bureau of Operations Secretary, Ms. Gilda Jimenez, at (432) 335-3343, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    The following information is required:

    • Name of business
    • Contact person name and phone number
    • Number of hours requested to work
    • Method of payment to the officer, ie.. check, cash...
  • What is the department's policy regarding racial profiling?

    Race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation of an individual shall not be a factor in determining the existence of probable cause to take into custody or to arrest an individual or in constituting a reasonable and articulable suspicion that an offense has been or is being committed so as to justify the determination of an individual or the investigatory stop of a motor vehicle or pedestrian.
  • How can I find out what beat or sector I am in?

  • Why didn't you make a report on my minor accident?

    It is the policy of the Odessa Police Department that accidents involving only minor damage to property and no injuries requiring transport will not be investigated and no report will be taken.

  • How can I adopt an animal from Animal Control?

    In order to adopt an animal you must present a valid Driver's License and a current utility bill either water, gas or electric. The address on the Driver's License must match the address on the utility bill.

    Cost:

    • $51.00 for an adult cat or dog
    • $35.00 for kitten or puppy

    Requirements:
    Animals must have their rabies shots within 48 hours of adoption and be spade or neutered within a given time frame.

  • What to do if online incident reporting is not right for me?

    If your incident is an emergency, call 911.  If non-emergency call 432-333-3641.

  • How can I know who are the registered sex offenders residing in Odessa?

    Public records of sex offenders are hosted by the Texas Department of Public Safety website.
